The Greene Memorial Hospital Surgery Department performs a wide variety of procedures from the simple removal of a mole, to the complex Aortic Aneurysm Repair.
We are proud to be able to offer our patients both inpatient and outpatient procedures using the latest surgical techniques and state-of-the-art equipment. GMH is able to handle most of your general and specialty surgery needs.
Our department is made up of the following units, all of which work together with care, compassion, and friendliness to make your surgical experience as painless as possible:
- Ambulatory Procedure Center (APC): APC is where we prepare you for your surgery. It is staffed by Registered Nurses, a nursing technician, and a clerical worker. This unit puts your record together, collects the required testing results, conducts a pre-operation telephone interview, and gets you ready for your procedure on your surgery date.
- Anesthesia Services: This department will provide the high-quality services needed to make you comfortable during your procedure and during your stay in the Post Anesthesia Care Unit.
- Surgery: GMH has four general operating rooms, a urology suite, and an endoscopy procedure room. The unit is staffed by RNs, Scrub Technicians, and the surgery scheduling and billing personnel.
- Post Anesthesia Care Unit (PACU): Formerly known as the recovery room, this unit is staffed by RNs and a nursing technician who provide quality care to the recovering patient from the effects of both anesthesia and their surgical procedure.
