Aerosol treatments:
are a method of delivering respiratory medications directly into the airways and the lungs. There are a number of such medications. The aerosol device creates a fine mist out of the medication, which is breathed into the airways and lungs. The type of medication, and frequency is determined by your physician.

Oxygen Desaturation Test:
is performed to determine if the amount oxygen (saturation) in your arterial blood decreases during physical activity. It may be done for strictly medical reasons, or it may be done to evaluate certain criteria. Such as whether you need to have oxygen at home.

The test usually involves no more than walking in the hallway, in the stairway, or on a treadmill while a small device softly clipped on the patient's finger measures the saturation.

Metered Dose Inhalers (MDI):
are small devices for delivering a pre-set amount of a respiratory medication into the lungs. Many of the same medications used in aerosol treatments are available in MDIs. They are easier to use. and can be carried around with you for your convenience.
