Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI)
Greene Memorial Hospital is the first hospital in the Miami Valley region, and only the second hospital in Ohio, to offer the life-saving technology of Breast-Specific Gamma Imaging (BSGI) to our patients.
MRI services are available at GMH five days a week.
We use a new General Electric 1.5 Tesla Signa Horizon LX HiSpeed MRI System to ensure that you have a quick and comfortable experience when using our MRI services. The system is designed to accommodate the larger and claustrophobic patient and offers a much shorter magnet length. It is also one of the fastest scanners on the market.
PACS – also called Picture Archiving and Communications Systems - puts GMH ahead of the pack. PACS is a digital system that helps departments such as medical imaging, vascular lab, cardiology and pathology, retrieve and store images. It enables physicians to view radiology images and patient reports on the web from any computer with high speed Internet.
Prior to the incorporation of PACS into the GMH system, images were hung on light boxes so physicians could read the results. Now, all images are stored in a digital archive. The digital storage of these images and results means they are available to physicians within minutes as opposed to hours – an advance that can make a huge difference in the care of a patient.
Patients who request copies of x-rays or other test result images are now provided with a copy of the image on a CD provided at no cost.
CAT scans at GMH provide exceptional images. GMH’s LightSpeed CT scanner is manufactured by GE Medical Systems. It allows doctors to simultaneously capture multiple wafer-thin images of a patient’s body within seconds, shaving precious minutes off the exam time. The system also provides exceptionally high-resolution images that help doctors to more accurately diagnose patients than ever before.
The CT scan suite at Greene Memorial Hospital has a skylight mural to help patients feel more comfortable. The new scanner is open and allows the patient to be more involved in the process.
Other imaging services at GMH include: X-ray, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Mammography, and Dexa bone density scans.
