Cardiac Rehabilitation

Cardiac Rehabilitation is a supervised exercise program which includes education on cardiovascular disease, risk factors associated with cardiovascular disease, and lifestyle modifications to reduce risk factors.

Services are provided to individuals with known cardiovascular disease and their families and to individuals who wish to reduce their risk for cardiovascular disease.

Cardiac Rehabilitation Can:..

  • Reduce the risk of a heart problem recurrence

  • Reduce the need for hospitalization because of heart problems
  • Decrease blood pressure
  • Improve physical functioning and strength
  • Lower levels of "bad" (LDL) cholesterol and triglycerides
  • Decrease emotional stress, depression, and anxiety
  • Provide weight loss when exercise is combined with lifestyle changes, such as eating a balanced diet.
